Understanding
coffee.

Simple explanations to help you discover Panama coffees and improve your brewing at home.

THE FIRST THREE GUIDES

Learn without making it complicated.

01 · ARABICA OU ROBUSTA?

Two personalities, two ways to discover coffee.

Arabica and Robusta tell different stories. When discovering coffee, it helps to start with this distinction rather than asking which one is “better.”

Arabica is at the heart of Aventura Cafés’ Panama Catuai. In our selection, it is associated with high-altitude growing and a profile reminiscent of chocolate, blackberry, and cherry.

Robusta brings a different personality. Our Panama Robusta comes from the Caribbean coast and is grown at low altitude. We describe it as round, with a milk-chocolate impression.

Why both? Coffee becomes interesting when you discover different personalities. Our Panama Matinal brings together 80% Arabica and 20% Robusta.

02 · DU GRAIN À LA TASSE

A chain that begins in Panama and ends at home.

Several steps unfold between the coffee plant and your cup. At Aventura Cafés, the story begins in Panama and continues to our roasting in Quebec.

After harvest, coffee must be prepared and dried before it can travel. Once selected, the beans make their way to Quebec, where we roast them by hand. Roasting transforms green coffee and develops the desired characteristics.

The final part of the journey happens at home: coffee is ground for the chosen method and then brewed. That is where the expedition ends — and your tasting begins.

03 · BIEN PRÉPARER SON CAFÉ

A few simple guidelines for a better cup.

You do not need to make brewing complicated to get a good cup. The key is to match the grind, coffee quantity, and method to what you are using.

For filter coffee, start with an appropriate grind and a consistent recipe, then adjust gradually to taste. For espresso, grind, dose, and extraction time work together: change one variable at a time.

At home, keep a simple routine: freshly ground coffee when possible, a consistent amount, and good-quality water. Then taste, note what you like, and adjust.
